Project life week

I guess my new day to update my Project life page is Sunday's now. I can't seem to get them done before then. This week was difficult. I felt like there wasn't alot to put on it, but there was. I just had to think about it. Really think was this week was for me.

Here is my page:

I've read a few people on Facebook and such that are upset with how much attention Whitney Houston got from dying and others don't. I was heartbroken to hear she died. I wasn't a die hard fan. I didn't own all her albums, but I grew up listening to her. I watched her movies and loved them. I appreciated her for what she stood for as an idol for young girls. Everyone makes mistakes, and her messed up her life. Drugs do that to people. It doesn't mean it erases all the good you did in your life. Not to me. I just wanted to document that here. I want to keep a kind heart always.

I haven't gotten as much done craft wise as I'd like this week. I am getting ready to start a project for storing emergency supplies. I saw this on Pinterest and realized that I really need to do this, incase of a zombie attack for this coming up hurricane season.

Hope everyone has a great long weekend. :)

My eyeballs will find canvas to paint

I've been in the mind set of making this project for about 2 weeks now. I went to Big Lots a few weeks ago and found a pair of canvas flats for 6 bucks. They had pink, ivory, and black. I bought the pink ones. They were a pretty pink, and HELLO 6 bucks??? Well once I had them home I threw my hand up to my forehead and realized "Duh these would be great to alter for 6 bucks!!". I didn't want to alter the pink ones as they are a lovely shade of pink and work just as they are, but....the black ones they had there totally could be painted on...

I went back the next day of course and bought another pair of 6 dollar shoes. I mean really though. I can't get over the price.

Here's what they looked like when I bought them.

I then took them and drew out what I wanted to paint on them. I knew I wanted to make them have green moths on them. Here's what they looked like with the white outline drawn on. The pen I used is in the picture.

Now this only took me like a  day to do. I left them sitting with the white outline drawing on them for about a week or so. I just didn't feel like painting them. It's something I wanted to make sure I had enough time to finish all in one sitting. I didn't want to do one shoe, then not be able to finish the other. Here's how they came out.

I'm obviously feeling the altering thing right now. lol. I love my new shoes. I wish they had white ones. The ivory ones were too..ivory/tanish. I didn't like the shade.
Today I'm hopefully going to work on the button challenge card for jinglebelles and eat some lunch. Have a great Thursday!

Project life week 6

I finally finished this week's project life. It turned out okay. I'm slowly, but surely realizing I kinda liked doing the digital calendar's more. I am obviously going to stick with this for the year, but I think I will be switching back next year for sure.

Today I ran up to Target to get groceries and of course the new Breaking Dawn dvd! :) I can't wait to watch it again.

Here's the project life for this week.

I also made a new thing for my crafty storage. I wanted something to store my stickles in that made them upside down. We all know how annoying stickles can be when they are almost empty and you have to try to get the last bit out. So I made something~!
I took the polymer clay I had left over from old projects. (I always have clay around) and made these little different colored clay holders. You can put three in each one I made. Each color is a full block of clay. I baked them at 265 in the oven to harden just like the package says. I made the indention into the clay with the stickle's bottle before baking so it would fit perfectly.

Each block of clay is around 99 cents to 1.50. Depending on sale and location. I try to buy them on sale at around 99 cents or I don't buy them. lol. Make sure to get the "soft" not "classic", as it makes it much easier with the brand FIMO, or the Sculptey is all good to work with.

Here are the pics.
I've got room to buy one more Stickles. lol. Some of these also are almost out of glitter/glue.

Well thats all for today. I'm beat. This weekend has been full of getting things done. Nice.

Thanks for stopping by!

Did you know leprosy is from armadillos? What the heck. I had no idea!

Its been pretty busy around here. Logan has 4 projects due this month and heck.. I feel like they are 50% mine to do. Thats probably the worst part about all this sciencey stuff. I dislike science projects so SO much. I can deal with the history ones, but dang.

I did manage to do a new card for the current EAD color design challenge. Its to do a black and white card. I had to add a little bit of color because well... I just had to!

Bazzil cardstock black and white, Cupcake stamp from Joann's dollar stamp Inkadinkado, black title sticker lettering EAD designs, alchol inks- ranger, bling-unknown.

I didn't finish my project life by today. I'll have to finish it up sometime today so I can post it tomorrow. I'm running a little late this morning. I should have already been at the gym and leaving by now, but I haven't even left yet. I had to finish up an egg project with Logan this morning. You know that project where they make a container and have to have it dropped off the building or whatever and they try to construct something that will not break the egg. Yeah.. thats what we're doing. I did it in... 6th or 7th grade. I remember. Logan is in 3rd.
I also wanted to share this funny I found on pinterest. Cracked me up. God I love these things.

I ate a 3 muskteers for dessert because its the only one low in points. lol. I'm sick. (7 pts!)

I'm big into February this year. All I can think of is pink, red, hearts and stuff. What the heck? Typically I don't really care for the month. I see it as kinda eh.. But some years I'm all into it. I'm a weirdo, what can I say?
When I saw the Feb Challenge for Scrapbooker's Anonymous I knew I was going to join in. Hello!3 hearts and stitching. Heck ya! Only problem was I really really did not want to make another Valentine's card. I have 3 already. I'm good. More than good.

Instead I decided to alter something. I've been into that kick for the last week or so. So here it is. I made a cute Valentine themed altered notebook to put in my purse. I love it!

I had most of these things on hand. I cut out the fabric hearts with fabric I had and sewed them on a piece of white and black heart'd fabric I had. The only thing I bought was some cute Valentine fabric sticker things from Joann's last week. They were on sale 50% off and well they are cute. Here's a pic of the supplies I used.
The little altered book came from Target. I don't know if they still have them there or not.

Tonight I made shrimp grits as it is hubby's favorite. I like it too, but its alot of dishes to clean up afterwards so I don't make it often. Also the boys won't touch it. I took the boys to Chuck E Cheese this morning so they were happy. Its been a nice pretty even busy day. Got my weekly groceries at the Super Target and I always love that.

Tomorrow will be the gym as usual and maybe some light thrift shopping. Though honestly I don't need anything. I'm not seeing how I'm going to be getting any Mardi Gras decorations done after all. I just don't know. I haven't been motivated to go buy what I need. Mainly I need alot of purple, gold, and green fabric. *sigh* I don't wanna. I might be a big slacker when it comes to this it looks like.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Groundhog saw his shadow huh? 6 more weeks of 80 degrees. Nice. :)

Another week goes by and I didn't get a whole lot done other than my project life page. I'm really enjoying it. This week I added some fun stuff that I normally would have probably not saved. I have the picture Leo drew and he wrote his name on it. He did it all on his own for the very first time. I was so impressed. :) It also has a little photo collage I made with a new digital kit I got. I have to admit I am kinda missing my digital pages.

I had to white out a places on each photo that had personal info on it. Thats actually why I haven't shared my geneology album book I made. I'm kinda debating about that. It has my mother's maiden name on it of course all over it and I'm not sure I want to show that to everyone ya know? Its almost impossible to white it out on all the photos too. *sigh* I'll have to think about it some more.

I also last night whipped out some homemade curtains for our bathroom. We had a big window in there with just the film on the window so you couldn't see in. I liked it like that. Hubby wanted curtains on it to "black it out". He doesn't like it sunny in there. So I agreed I would do that for an extra drawer space. haha Instead of buying a curtain, I just made one last night real quick with some vintage fabric I already had. Nothing fancy. It took me 20 minutes. It was nice to use what I had though and once I finally get around to decorating that bathroom I'll probably change it. I want to eventually paint that bathroom a sea blue color. Right now its a peachy tan color I dislike greatly. I've not been in the mood to paint walls at all.
Here's the curtains.

I am getting ready to go to the gym, then I hope to get some stuff done around here. Maybe some crafting! Gosh I've been saying that all week. I also have a few blogs to catch up on. I did put my Etsy store back up on Etsy. Its up and running. I want to get back into doing some stamps and maybe something new to sell in there. I want to start cleaning out what I have currently.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend.

Serious headache that is sinus or lack of caffine caused. :(

I've not been crafting. I hope I get to tomorrow. I figured I'd show you what I'm obsessed with the last few days.

Okay number one: I had a 10 dollar gift card to Victoria Secret. I have no idea how I got it. I've had it forever. I checked the balance online then went into the store. I didn't want to spend much money, so I got this 12 dollar spray, Sheer Love . I'm now obsessed with the smell. They really have some nice smelling spritzing sprays. This is the most beautiful springy/love scent. It says its white cotton + pink lily. LOVE.
Yes those are my make up brushes and the bowl I keep them in I found it at a thrift store for a dollar. I thought it was so pretty. It has sand in it to hold the brushes up. I think I'm going to take one of my mini misters and fill it with this scent to put in my gym bag to use as a travel size. I love mixing craft stuff + beauty stuff.

Last night for dinner I decided to make something a little bad, but not too bad. Its a grilled cheese avocado bacon sandwich. OH MY GOD it was good. 15 points. I used kraft cheese slices (2), 1/3 avocado sliced, 2 strips of bacon, one tablespoon light margarine, and two pieces of high fiber/whole wheat bread.
I don't know if you all  have saw that are into digital scrapbooking, but there's a site that Lauren turned me onto and its having a special February sale all month. There are dollar kits and elements and new deals every day this month. The site is designhousedigital.com

I bought these kits so far:
I think they'll come in handy for my project life. I have to go to the gym today and put in another small order to Walgreens. *grins*
