I was thrilled to be choosen to be a guest designer for the June 20th Caardvarks challenge. The challenge is windows. Whatever that means to you. There are such neat things the DT and guests have done. Go check it out!
Here are my two cards I made for the challenge. First my blue baby boy card. I used blue cardstock, and made the card and square frame. I took an old stained baby onesie and cut it up for the face of the polar bear to put behind the frame. Then mounted it to the card with pop up foam dots. I then laced the embroidery floss around the frame and tied it. The little happy plastic greeting I got from Joanns years ago. The hearts are a paper punch with three side by side. Inside the greeting says "you are here".
I love this card. Its adorable and recycled my baby onesie cuteness that was all stained up.
My second card is a hybrid card.

The digital elements are from the Mysterious Melancholy kit on After five designs. I printed out the frame with the butterfly after adding shadows and adhered it to the cardstock, patterened paper and card. I printed out a separate butterfly cut it out and adhered it to the original butterfly image so its popped up. Some flowers, button, and embroidery floss and voila' done.
I also used stickles on the butterfly, but its difficult to tell in the picture.
What a fun challenge. Can't wait to see what the next one will be.
I'm going soon to visit my best bud, Sherrie in Alabama. I'll be gone for awhile. I am very excited to see her and we'll be doing some crafting! Yeah!
I just have to figure out what crafty stuff to pack! Though she has tons just like me.
Off to get things done today. Want to work on replacing some grout and hoping to take little Leo to the aquarium just him and I. I want to get tons of good pics and play out in the water area with him. Its a Mommy and Leo weekend.

Fantastic recycling of that adorable baby onesie ... what a special one-of-a-kind design ... and I am so intrigued by the hybrid design. I keep saying I'm going to learn more digital and this is proof that I am correct ... this rocks! So thrilled to have you designing with us at Caardvarks.
Gina: Congratulations! I LOVE that you recycled the onsie...so creative and cute! I thought it was cute to begin with and then...when I read what you did!! I need to study the hybrid more closely (it's stunning). I know nothing about digital hybrid designs but have enjoyed looking at your creations.
These are lovely! I know nothing about digital but I really want to learn so I can do hybrid stuff. It's on the todo list, lol. So awesome you recycled the onesie too.
OMG! you are just SO FLIPPIN' CLEVER!!!!!!!! i love both of these equally but in completely different ways! saving the bear off the onesie is GENIUS (but how will you ever be able to part with it??!?!) and you've made it into an adorable baby card. i LOOOOOOOOOOOVE the drama & the digi elements of the second card, as well.
(you are so much better than i am at hybrid-ing...i tend to think digi OR real...i gotta learn to mix it up more!!!)
have a blast in alabama! can't wait to see all the crafty stuff you make!!! ♥♥♥
ps: i just checked out that kit at AFD...yiiiiiiiiiikes that is cool! consider me ENABLED, babe!!! :)
Beautiful cards! Love them both! Congrats!
