Design Dollies

I found via Leah's blog her cool challenge blog she's a DT with Design Dollies. They had a current challenge to do this sketch.

I of course felt the need to do a layout, though I had to do a digital one. I've been cracking the whip when it comes to doing creative stuff. I love this sketch! Here's what I came up with.

I wanted to capture this story because its so Logan. He is a rule follower. If you offer him more than three cookies he will always decline. He only eats two pieces of Halloween candy a day EVERY YEAR. I don't monitor his candy or anything. He's so good.

Leo on the other hand is like me and will eat himself sick if given the chance. We are under agreement we do not know where Logan got this certain trait. lol.

Yesterday I also busted out my new melting pot. I broke down and bought one with my coupon from Michaels. I really want to get into doing wax stuff. I have a new book coming about using wax. I need more pointers. Here's what I made yesterday with bees wax. A new art journal page! Its small magazine picture, watercolor paper, scrapbook paper, oil pastels, BG stickers and Heidi Swapp stickers. I LOVE this page. Its so thick.

Last but not least I wanted to show off my new "Easter" stamps I'm going to be listing in Etsy today. They are so cute. There's a bunny silhouette, jelly bean, and acorn. They'll be a group listing. So versitle. I am going to be carving myself one today. I want to hopefully carve 3 stamps today. But we'll see.

I have three goals for the day.

1. take kids old toys and such to the kids consignment store
2. Leo needs haircut
3. Organize pantry

Other than that, whatever goes down is cool. The haircut is my least fav on this list.
Well thanks for stopping by. I'm going to go read some blogs!

Week 9 Heart the Arts journal prompt

There is one thing I am known for. Its my ability to take forever to make a decision. I have to think about even some of the simplest things before deciding on them. What patio furniture I want, who I want to babysit the boys, if I want to you to bring dessert or an appetizer to the party(this one I really don't care isn't that your decision? lol). The point is I waffle. I go back and forth and wait for the feeling to be right. To make sure I've thought of all the best reasons why or why not I should get something or do something. I figure if I give most things a little time the right choice presents itself.

So this is week nine's prompt... Waffling/indecision

Do you Waffle on anything? Do you take forever to make a decision? Anything with this one is great. Just where ever you want to take this prompt I'd love to see.

Here's what I came up with. You can click on the pic to see it larger.

I first painted the page blue. I added some pink and mixed it with the wet blue. Then in the middle I made a big block of orange in different shades with oil pastels. I then stamped with stayzon green a butterfly stamp around the edges. I then drew the octopus in pencil and colored him a bit with some oil pastels. I then wrote the journaling.

Last night we had a date night. It seemed we couldn't get out of just not having things go our way. Everywhere we wanted to go at any given point through out the night was closed. Traffic was horrible. The food at the seafood restaurant was decent, but not great. But it was still lots of laughs and fun to get out. I am of course sitting here at 4:45 again not able to sleep. Jeez..

Once we got home last night I painted 6 of the 12 pages I have planned so far. They are just the first watercolor layer. I'm going to go over them with colored pencils and acyrlics today some time. Not now. I am still debating whether I should just go back in bed. My head hurts!

One place we did manage to go to last night was Barnes and Nobles. I got a new book! It is so cool. Click on the image if you want to be directed to amazon for it. It looks really neat. Once I really go through it more I'll tell you how it is.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good weekend. We're just going to be hanging out the rest of the weekend. I'm going to go look up where we can take our old electronics to recycle that are cluttering up my garage. I think they only do it the first Saturday of the month though. Hope not! Bye!

100 things

Digichick digi scrapbook site is having a challenge to scrap 100 things you love. I had to do one. I've bought a couple items from them recently and they are going up as one of my fav digital scrapbook sites now. I love their 2 dollar Tuesdays. Everything on the layout is from digichick except the little bird. Click on the picture twice if you want to see it close up and read the journaling.

I just figured I'd want a list of 100 things I'm into/love right now. Why not? I love how it turned out.

I'm still researching blog book printers for my books. I'm thinking about starting drawing tonight possibly. We'll see. I'm kinda tired. I think I'm going to go with create space. Lewis used them to print his book and you can order copies of the book on Amazon then! :) Very cool.

I don't typically do two blog posts in one day, but well I wanted to post this to share. Tomorrow is the new Heart the art blog post. Its a cool art journal page and prompt. Come check it out!

I'm up, its four am. I'm going to be hating life today.

I've been a busy bee carving the last two days. My finger officially hurts. I cut it a little with carving. I do that sometimes if I'm feeling a little jittery while carving. I try to work against the block and I inevitably knick my finger holding the block.

I can't sleep. I'm up. Its four am. I was laying in my bed with a children's picture book story running through my head. I knew if I laid there for too long it would be gone. Can you believe I got up and wrote one??? I did. It's going to be about summer and its going to have around 12 picture pages. I'm going to get one printed out for Leo. I'm just trying to think of how I want to illustrate it now. I might even sell copies of it on my blog depending on how the illustrations come out and if I'm happy with it. I can't believe it poured out of me like that. Crazy. I mention yesterday on here I want to do a book someday and boom. Cool. The writing to me was the hard part. Now onto the fun part!

Back to the stamps I've been carving. I carved a new duckling stamp to sell in my Etsy, but it was snatched up as soon as I listed it by Leah. Which I love her for. :) I see me making another in the future to put up on Etsy as soon as my finger heals.

This is what I've been doing. (the first night! lol)

As you can see I have a trio of trees!! These are my new ones I designed while hating life in bankruptcy law class. Here's a better pic of each one. They will be in Etsy soon. I am not sure if I'm selling them as a trio or single pieces yet. Also my new tulip hand carved stamp. The Fairyfolk stamp is for a custom stamp I will totally be gushing about soon enough!

I can't believe I'm still awake. I'm writing a blog post at 4 am. I'm wishing I could start digging through and making a card if it wouldn't wake up the boys. Once its this close to time for them to wake up you make sure to not be loud at ALL. Or you will lose any "extra" alone time you are trying to get in the morning to get things done. I will have to be content to shop online and catch up on my blogs for the next hour and half. Ahh... I wonder if I'll wake them up making coffee? eep!

Ooh also coming soon. I'm going to make a mini album book thing out of blank cards for my cruise coming up. I'll show off the one I did years ago, I'm going to have to think up a way to jazz it up for 2010! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Oh yes and I will be posting a gel medium tutorial also even sooner than the mini book. Stay tuned!

Its a cold Thursday...again

Its Thursday! My flickr favs for the week are here. I do them more by color scheme that is pleasing to my eye than anything. I think it helps me mix colors together that look nice. It makes me pay attention to the detail in the photos. I enjoy doing it. I'm going to have to do SOMETHING with all these at the end of the year. Maybe print them out into a book of 2010 favs or something. Then I can look through it for inspiration.

See that wonderful card #2 in there with the bird? That is Lauren's! I have loved it for over a year. She dug it up off her hard drive to put it on flickr for me to drool over. Still love it girl!

1. Untitled, 2. garden scene card (2008), 3. valentine sewing, 4. the journey begins again, 5. Happy Valentine's Day, 6. Knocking back a cold one, 7. 329/365: A mug of something spicy, 8. this month's challenge, 9. Albert Einstein

Created with fd's Flickr Toys

I am really hoping to get some book printed out this year in the next couple months. Blurb seems to be pretty expensive, but I'm looking to find one where you can design the cover too. I don't want just a black or blue cover. I want like the books in this picture. If you click on the picture you can go to the article about how to get a book printed out. It has in the article some reviews of places. I was wondering if any of you out there use anyone you really like? Have you had a book printed out?

I'd really love to make my own children's book and print it out. This is a HUGE undertaking and not something I would whip together anytime soon. Hell it might be a resolution for next year. Its something I'm always thinking of though. As soon as I have a clear story in my head I will be doing one.

Onto another subject.. I did find a shower curtain for my bathroom. Who are we kidding? I didn't have time to make one. So as soon as I saw this one at Target for 10 BUCKS, I had to get it. It matches my oil pastel perfectly. I need to get a better frame for it though. I don't really care for that one. I got cool rugs to match and a couple towels that are not shown in the picture.

Last but not least. A new art journal page I did about a week ago. I've been messing with it and can't get it the way I want. I'm just not really thrilled with it, but I figured I'd share anyways.
Thanks for stopping by!

Duckling card

I did a card for this week's 2S4Y. Here's the sketch..

Here's what I came up with for the sketch.

This is one of my hand carved stamps. I stamped it then colored it in copic markers. I colored the green cardstock with copic markers to make the hill. I stamped the duck stamp directly onto the green cardstock and then cut out the duckling that I colored on white cardstock and placed it over the green cardstock stamped image. I added the stamped get well soon. The plant chipboard is BG that I colored with green alcohol ink and then glazed it. I sewed along the bottom of the card.

I love this stamp. I made this drawing back when I was pregnant with Leo. If I was going to have a girl I was going to do a duckling mural in her room like this. Alas i did not have a girl so the duckling drawing/s turned into a stamp. lol. I should make one of these to put in my Etsy store.

Oh yeah I was wondering does my blog look normal to you all? Lauren said it looked like some of the text was misplaced on the front blog page over the header. My computer and dh's looks fine. I'm confused. ?? What do you see?

I also wanted to share my new digi elements I bought this morning.OOH I love them. They are all from Digichick. I do love that online store. Its very cool and 2 buck Tuesdays! You'll be seeing these fonts in projects soon. ;o) Thanks for stopping by!!

Another Sticker card

I was one of the winners on the Caardvarks for their wedding card challenge!! I got a one year sub to Cards magazine!! I'm so happy. I love that card, I was so glad to see others liked it too. AND I can't wait to get my magazines. Yippee!

I decided last night I wanted to do another sticker card for the Caardvarks challenge. I hardly ever make two cards for a challenge. I am glad I did this time. It's SO pretty. I've had this set of stickers (the bunny and veggies) for AGES. I can't even tell you how long. I would say...around 04' I bought them. Maybe.. earlier. I think I bought them when we lived in Texas. Yep. Forever ago. I always loved the stickers, but had no idea what to do with them. Last night this popped into my head. Voila!

I took some scrap cardstock that had been painted with distress blue and green and made the hills. I glued them down. Then I took a green dabber and rubbed the green distress ink up away from the hills. Around the top I did it with blue distress ink. I then spritz'd the paper with green distress ink die water. I drew green little squiggle plants with my alcohol ink pen filled with green alcohol ink. I added all the stickers. Last I stapled across the flower ribbon border. I got that from J's. Isn't that flower ribbon stuff gorgeous? Its a mint to buy. I think it was 8 bucks a yard! I got like a 1/4 of a yard. lol.

In other news my bankruptcy class was not amusing last night at all. My professor left our papers at home so we couldn't get them back. She left at 6:20 to go get her picture taken for the school's new id cards and called that our "break". She made it back with the students that went with her at 7.

I sat there talking to my friend for 40 minutes!!! Okay to be fair she was actually in the room at 6:50, but class didn't start again till 7. She is really one of the worst college teachers I've ever had. Ever..

I did manage to draw a set of trees that I will be making into a trio of hand carved tree stamps. Very cool. I also drew a horse, duck, and pig, but they aren't really in the same style I usually draw so I dont' know what I'm going to do with them.

I want to finish a card for 2S4Y this week. I need to go to the gym today. I have my Tort class tonight that I do like going to. I'm hoping to hear back from my babysitter whether or not she can babysit one night this weekend. I'm hoping to have a date night with Lewis either Friday or Saturday night. We might go see Shutter Island. :)

Off to check out Digichick. They have digital scrapbook stuff on sale 2 buck Tuesday!

Basic Grey Challenges

The current challenge on Basic Grey Challenge blog is a color combo. I just found this blog through Leah's blog. I love it. I have so much Basic Grey its really ridiculous. I love the stuff!!

I made two cards for the challenge. Here they are. They are so cute! I'll be participating on this blog as much as I can. Please don't ask me to name what lines these are from. I'm HORRIBLE at that. I need someone to come behind me and tell me which is what and what line is named this and that. I never remember. I'm lucky to get the company name right. I so shouldn't be admitting that, but its true! lol. Off to get things done. Busy day today so little stuff about me. I did finish the art journal page for this week's heart the art coming up. I can't wait to show it off. Keeping it to myself till Saturday will kill me. Bankruptcy law tonight. Boo hiss. Hope to come back with some new stamp designs after tonights class. lol

Caardvark Sticker challenge and new desk!

I've been organizing away today and putting together my new desk with my hubby, but I also made a new card for the Caardvarks challenge. Its a sticker challenge. I don't have tons of stickers (other than alpha), but I did have these BG stickers that came with my nook and pantry set. I love them. So pretty. The whole BG kit is great. Here's what I came up with. Its a card for my cousin who just had a baby named Nola. Isn't that pretty? I love the name. It makes me think of New Orleans, Louisiana. Lewis and I actually talked about that name a little when I was preggers with Leo.

I made the font out of patterned paper, but the welcome is stickers, so is the heart, the strawberry, the stripped border that the welcome stickers is on is also a sticker. Underneath the O in Nola there is a scalloped sticker. It turned out almost all of it is BG except the lace, welcome stickers, and the cardstock.

Onto my new nifty desk! Its called the EZview desk. It is nice. I have two more drawers coming to make it so that I can stand and use it, but I'm thinking I might not get them. They are on back order. I'm not sure. Still thinking about it. It was pretty easy to put together and a nice piece of furniture. Only thing I don't like is the front doors have velcro bags that stick inside them and if the bags have ANY weight in them at all they doors wont' stay shut. I ended up putting chipboard letters in the bag. I didn't take a picture. I'll have to add one another day. Here's all kinds of pics of my new "area". I'm really happy. Now I'll just have to get used to sitting down and doing stuff again. I've been standing for months now.

Thanks for stopping by!

Week 8 Heart the Arts prompt

Wow this week went by fast. I guess it always feels like that when you get a day off for a holiday. Having a nice long weekend last weekend with hubby is going to make this weekend feel too fast and short. Today I will be spending the day putting together things and hopefully not cursing too much.

I did this weeks art page a few days ago. I was having a rough day and I felt like I couldn't do anything right. I made this art page about how I felt.

Week eight's prompt is.... Feel like.

I am really proud of this page. i love it. I think its one of my most favorite to date. I collaged all the scraps on the page. Glued them down then gesso'd the page. I let it dry. Then I drew the cracked eggs in pencil. I then painted them with acrylic paint. I let that dry and then wrote the journaling on the page.

I'm really enjoying what my book is turning into so far. I hope everyone else is enjoying this journey too.

Can't wait to see what everyone does for this prompt.

Pink Homemake AJP and WINNER!

I've been so busy this week I've had little time to mess with my art stuff. I did manage in the last 3 days to make this. I used my gel medium to do a transfer of the roses picture that came from a Martha Stewart magazine. Then I used lots of paint, ink, and more ink to layer it. I cut out the "to handmake" font from a piece of cardstock. I love the look of that. I've seen many do it. Especially Julie Balzer. I figured I'd try it out. Where else but in my art journal???! I mean thats what they are for. To try out new techinques, write down private thoughts and pretty much just purge. (in an artful way lol)

This is a pretty light blog post today. I have to get moving with the rest of my day. I have a weekend filled with putting stuff together. I got a new scrap desk!! I need to put it together tomorrow. Here's a link to it. I'm waiting for the extender drawers so I can work on it standing up. I hope they come soon.

I can't wait to organize it all. Its hard with my small area and small hands of Leo that want to get in all my stuff to get it how I would like. I wish, I wish I had a scrap room. I can't see smooshing the boys in one room so that can happen. I just wouldn't feel right about that. The rooms just aren't big enough and they are pretty far apart in age to do it. Leo is still in a crib. (and hopefully will be for another 4 to 6 months!)

Well I have to go pick up my oldest.

I picked a winner today!!! The winner of the mushroom stamp for this month is Debbie!!!

Email me your addy and I will send out your stamp. My email is tyggereye@yahoo.com.

Thanks everyone for all the great book suggestions. I love them. I'll have another giveaway next month sometime. So keep checking back.

Blue Mosaic Thursday

I'm totally slacking this week when it comes to creative productivity. I did manage today to finish the art journal page for this week's heart the art prompt. Very excited to show it off. I love it.

I figured since I don't have a ton to show today I'll show off what I do have and give ya some links of things I'm totally into right now. Things I've found online recently that made me go "oooh!".

First off my new stamp. This bad boy was drawn in my bankruptcy class and I carved it out the next night. Totally me. A bit whopper jawed, but thats the kind of mood I'm in lately.

I also wanted to share this week's mosaic for Thurs favs flickr group.

I love doing these.

Links to other things I really like.

1. I want to try to make some of these fabric chinese fortune cookies.
2. I want this lantern and making it would be fun!
3. peppermint whipped cream. I can't make it unless I want to go off my diet plan.
4. How to make a magnet organizer. I totally want to do this.
5. Recipe for King Cake ala Martha. I might have to try this next year.
6. When we renew our vows I think I'm going to make little party favors like this. How cute!! or maybe like this.

Okay I'm done with links for today. Today's the last day to comment on this post for this month's hand carved stamp giveaway! Tonight at 10pm EST is the cut off. I'll post Friday the winner.

Week four collage of heart the art pages and February giveaway!!!

I love making these collages of everyone's pages for the prompts each week. I'm running a bit behind, but that means I get pretty much everyone's up so thats good. This is for week four the prompt was under control. These are what everyone made so far with that prompt. Aren't they so cool????!!

2. fourchet
3. Lauren
4. Pheresa
5. Lisa
6. June

Now just to finish all the other weeks! I love seeing them all together like this. So cool! Most of these are in our flickr group pool. Go check them out if you want to see them close up and read the text or leave some love.

All morning I've been tweaking and messing with my blogs layout. What a pain! I'm so not good at it, but I try. I'm still not happy. So if you see constant weirdness off and on the next few days thats why on my blog.

Now onto the giveaway. I figure I'm going to do one stamp giveaway a month. How fun right?

This month in honor of Valentine's day. I'm going to giveaway this stamp.

This is one of my newer stamp designs. Its trendy, but WAY cute. Everyone is eligible. International included! Just leave me a comment telling me what you are reading now. I'm always curious to what other people are reading. I'm currently reading "Lace Reader" by Brunonia Barry. I just started it. I just finished reading Julie and Julia. (like the movie, but the book) The movie actually covered it pretty well. No need to read the book. It was okay.

Forgot to add. Leave your comment by Thursday 10pm EST and I'll pick a winner randomly on Friday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Post V-day

I had such a great time on Valentine's day. We did absolutely nothing but spend time together. The kids were at my parents this weekend. I just went and got them today. It was so nice. Rejuvenating is what Lewis called it. I wish we could have gotten a hike in, but well... it was cold. Lewis is a southerner and calls me a Yankee when it gets too cold and I want to go out in it. haha

I think he called a "Yankee in Southern clothing" yesterday. lol. Needless to say we spent most of the day in the warm piping 72 degree heated house. I made this while we were messing on our computers.

I'd really like to try to do digital pages right away with photos I take so I don't forget what I want to write on them.

A few days ago I was altering some more pictures and came up with this art journal page. I love how it turned out. Its a picture of my grandma, grandpa, and uncle. I did the oil pastels on the page. I used modeling paste on the picture and alcohol inks. There's a bit of a glare on the photo from the scanner, but I'm way too lazy to fix it right. I hope you don't mind.

Tonight I plan on making stuffed steaks with mozzerella cheese and spinach with brown rice side. Yep its an iron blast meal.

Tomorrow starts my training! I'm going to be doing this in May. ITS SO COOL! I can't wait. They even have a mini muddy buddy competition race, but I don't think Logan will do it. I might have to show him the video though! *fingers crossed*

Off to make some coffee so I can stay awake. I'd love to pump out a card or something creative today maybe. We'll see. Depends on how well the coffee works. Happy President's day everyone!

Mardi Gras party

We had a fantastic Mardi Gras party yesterday. I ate way too much. Kinda a once a year occasion though so I'm not beating myself up about it too much. We are kidless the rest of the weekend, so we were going to go hiking. I'm having a little bit of difficulty convincing Lewis. Its pretty cold out there. He's calling me a yankee again and that his southern blood can't take it. lol.

I gave him his bat Valentine's card this morning. He loved it. Tonight we're going to go have a romantic sushi dinner just us two. I can't wait. Again... my diet my suffer a little.

Here's some photos from the party that I love.

Logan cracks me up in these pictures! Here's pics of the food. King cake, stuffed crab mushrooms, crawfish ettoufee, and dirty rice.

Picture of me and Lewis.

Last night after everyone left Lewis and I went to the thrift store since we had no kids. I love going to our local one. I found alot of cool stuff. I found this dress and it was a bit clingy and hoochy just as a dress but I decided I'd make it into a shirt. Well I did last night! It wasn't hard. I did it real quick. I like how it turned out, but I wish I had made it a bit longer. It has a whopperja feeling to it I love. I didn't get a pic of it as a dress. DUH! I hate when I do that. I get so involved with what I want to make I never take before pics!! It was a tight dress to right above my knees and the ruffle was on the bottom.

Anyways here it is. Decent? Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Heart the arts week seven prompt

Have you ever heard people say "Never say Never". Well I've heard that before. Many times by a few different people. Honestly I've always been annoyed when someone says that. Sure there are times when you say never, and it does happen.
There are also times when you say never and it will never, ever, ever happen. Like I can honestly say I will NEVER eat fish on purpose. I just don't. I keep fish as pets. To me eating fish is like eating a dog. I have dogs as pets. I have fish as pets. I love them. I don't begrudge anyone from eating them, but I won't. If they once had scales I don't want to eat it.
Unfortunately, I can't say I'll never eat fish, because we all know sometimes people sneak things into food and you don't know it. I hate that!

Anyways... Onto prompt week seven.. its... NEVER...

Never would have guessed huh? lol

Here's what I came up with.

I watercolored the page, then drew the follage and words in colored pencils. I glued down the vintage tiger illustration. Then I gel mediumed the whole page. I let it dry. Then I took a brown sharpie pen and drew all over it. I then gel mediumed the whole page again. I like how it came out. I'm still figuring out different things to do with gel medium.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. This is very broad so I'm sure everyone will come out with amazing pages.

I'm going to try to remember today to take tons of pictures of the food and fun festivities. I hope it isn't rainy or too cold. Have a great weekend everyone! I will be working on posting my collages of past weeks soon. I'm a bit behind on them.

Caardvark Wedding card challenge

The current challenge at Caardvarks is a wedding card challenge you can get published! Isn't that cool? I of course did a card. I love wedding cards. I don't go to many weddings anymore, but I do love them! Lewis and I are going to renew our vows this year. We're just trying to figure out where and when. The one thing I really want for my wedding renewal is a great photographer. I want awesome pictures. I don't care if its twice as much as my dress. I don't care if I just wear my original dress and have it altered. (its about 5 sizes too big isn't that cool?) I wonder if they can alter a dress that is that much bigger. Probably. Oh yes! Onto the card!

I drew out the cake and birds separately. I then printed them out and cut out paper piecings with them. The papers are some KI memories, BG, and TAC. I sewed on it, Added some KI memories sticker strips, cut out the birds from some vintage papers, and added the decorative lace ribbon. I colored the paper a bit with antique linen distress inks to make it look aged. I doodled a bit with my white signo pen. I love how it turned out.

I'm running very late today. I have to get Logan to school and then clean the day away. Tomorrow is Mardi Gras party. Eep! Can't wait.

Fruity and giveway winner

I had the urge last night to do another oil pastel drawing. I love this one. It was based on a picture of still life I saw on flickr. I saw the fruit and it clicked in my head exactly what I wanted this to look like. Once I drew it and colored it, I went searching for a quote that expressed what I felt when looking at this piece. I really need to get some frames for my drawings.

Yesterday I made it to my spin class. One hour of goodness on a bike. It was great. I even met a new girl (I'm very social haha like you probably guessed) and her and I hit it off. She has a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old. (girls though) Now I just need to cross my fingers that she's arty and all the stars will be in place. She seemed nice. You know when you meet someone and its like you feel like you've already known them forever? Okay okay this is sounding kinda stalkerish. I'll stop. I'm just needing a friend around here I can do stuff with. My closest friend that lives near here is in school full time and very busy. I miss her.

Most of my other close friends live far far away. *waves to Sherrie* Of course all my blog arty buddies live too far away too. *pout*

I'm running way behind today. Woke up late. I have to go to Target and the gym. I'm also finishing up a card for Caardvarks! I'm really liking how it looks so far. Hope everyone has a great Thursday. Tomorrow is crazy day for me. I have to get ready for the Mardi Gras party we're going to have on Saturday. I just hope I can be strong around the king cake. yum...

Random photos, new video and giveaway purge

Typically I don't write entries on the day I post them. I usually do them the night before and then proof read them in the morning and THEN publish them. So if this one has more typos or grammar issues than usual. That is why. I'm horrible when I type. I type fast. I think fast. Add those two together and its looking like my six year old wrote some of my blog entries.

Today I have a new video of my finished Remains of the Day journal on flickr. Yippee!! I'm so excited to be done with it. Now I get to fill it up with random bits of everything. I've already written little things in it that would have got forgotten if it hadn't been for my ROD journal.

Other than the video I don't have much crafty to share. I went to my bankruptcy class last night and pretty much doodled the whole class (got a new stamp design to carve!) Sshh I know! I hate that class. You'd understand if you were there.

Well since I have no other arty stuff and I'm writing in "real time" I figure I'd share with you what I'm doing today. There was no gym today because I took Leo to the doctor for his ankle. He's fine. It was just a strain like I thought. Thats why I waited till today, but then I figured I needed the peace of mind so I took him. No gym for me today. (boo hiss)

Since I've been home from the peditrician I've been cooking. I have a pork roast covered in taco seasoning in the crockpot. All you do is throw a pork roast in the the crock pot take one of those low sodium taco seasoning packs add a 1/2 water to it. Mix it in a bowl with the seasoning then pour mixture over the roast. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours and voila! pulled taco pork you can put in a wrap with lettuce and tomatoes and onions. Sort of a pork burrito. Very good.

I am also making Taco soup to go with it. All that is in it is beef broth, garlic, onion, tomatoes, green pepper, cumin, chili powder, black beans, picante sauce, and a cup of pasta noodles. Cook for awhile till noodles are tender and its ready!

Random pics of around the house....

Last but not least. I've been going through my stuff and am purging some things. Mostly stamps. Many of them are TAC stamps or a few Stamping up. A couple other odds and ins I won't use. If you would make use of them and would like them leave me a comment on this post by Wednesday 10 EST. I'll draw someone randomly on Thursday. Please only in the states for this, because its a box and a pain for me to ship internationally. I will have a stamp giveway of one my stamps this month that will be open to everyone.

Thanks for looking!

the pink ninja motto challenge

I saw the new pink ninja's challenge and had to participate. I didn't really want to do a layout and with the requirements I couldn't do digi again. I did an art journal page.

The challenges to do were your motto, stamping and a transparancy.

I watercolored the page and then printed the pictures and saying out on those avery circle stickers. I stamped and drew on the stamps with my sharpie pens. I cut out shapes in the Hambly overlay and then attached that. The little king and queen are stamps at the usps that I took the image and printed those on the circle. I think they are so pretty. I then journaled on the circles.
My motto to myself is to send out truth and light. Lewis asked me what that meant. I had a hard time answering that. I guess it to me means to try to be a more positive person and do my best to be truthful with myself and others in life.

Yesterday I started going through my two peas favs. I haven't fav'd anyone on there in eons! Probably a few years. But I still was interested to go through it and see which layouts I still loved. I figured I'd share the ones with links. (click on the photo for the link to the original artist)

These layouts to me have continued to be my faves even though the artists made them years ago. Its always neat to see what stands the test of time ya know? Especially in scrapbooking where fad's and "styles" seem so in and then go SOOO out. Kinda like fashion. There are some things in your closet that will be cool even in 20 years. Not much. But some.

I hope you enjoy some of these like me.

This one really struck me because of the colored pencil swirls and the large picture.WowI love this layout.

The layering of the elements and even having that very sticker family digital element in the mix and having it all work together so well really caught my eye. I book marked this three years ago!

Okay the colors, and hello!!! Harry Potter! I *heart* Snape too. That black flower silhouette is my fav on this.

I like the paint circles and the simple neutral colors of this. Really pretty. I am also quite jealous she has a such a pretty profile. I wish I could get such a cute profile shot. Like the hand drawn love like the stamps font on the bottom right corner.

I figure this will be my modge podge of just random bits I've been into, looking at and seeing lately. I'm just throwing all of it in this post.

I'm really disappointed with myself. I've gained 10 lbs in the last 2 months. Mainly because of all the sickies and letting myself binge and eat crappy as I did when I was heavier. I haven't been able to go to the gym like I typically do to combat some of the calories. Its not good. I have six Monday weigh ins to go till my cruise. I have to lose at least this 10 lbs. I've been getting so discouraged because of not being able to go to the gym. It actually looks like I might not be able to go today even. *sigh* Leo has a sprained ankle/hurt foot from chasing Logan last night. Logan then tripped him. Poor kid is limping around going "ow foot. Ow..."

Plan... eating very light. Taking a walk with Leo in stroller if can't go to gym. Do sit ups at home. I hope the morning picks up.
