March digi calendar

Click on pic to see it bigger.

Finished another month of my digital calendars. I really really can't wait to the end of the year to get these printed in a book. I love each month more and more. Wait till you see April!! I've already designed out the background. One of the many things I did on the cruise. know anyone who brings laptops and copus amounts of craft supplies but me? Well me and hubby. He had his laptop too. Don't worry there was plenty of romantic times too, but who are we kidding? We are total tech nerds in our own little ways. I'm more arty tech nerd, and he is more programmy tech nerd. :)

My craft bag weighed in at around 20 lbs. It was crazy. I just couldn't seem to leave anything behind. I did use most of it. I didn't use my colored pencils. I would have used watercolor ones, but did not bring those. (big shame) I wish I had downloaded a free trial of adobe illustrator to play with while on the ship. That was a big duh moment for me. I mean when am I ever going to have large amounts of uninterrupted time to figure out a freakin' new program?? Never! Well maybe when Leo is 5. hah!

I'm still trying to get back into the groove of things. I need to go to the gym again today. Yesterday we celebrated Lewis' birthday. Just the 4 of us. It was nice. I made him his favorite dinner meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans. I bought him a small ice cream cake for us to have for dessert. Logan liked the cake. Leo not so much. Its impossible to please them both.

I have a million things I want to get done this week. I'm off school so I really want to do the new SRM challenge of cosmo cricket paper and their stickers. I still need to do the current Caardvark lace challenge. I'd like to do this week's 2S4Y and so many more challenges! I have my art journal page ready for Saturday.

I've started reading a new book called the Happiness Project. So far I love it. I'm thinking it'll be my fav of the year. I plan on reading one book a month. So far I've read The Physick book of Deliverance Dane, Julie and Julia, and The Lace Reader. So "The Happiness Project" is the book for the month of April.

Must get going on my day. Gym, Target, Home. In that order. Possible Starbucks coffee needed from the Target. They have one inside it. I love that.

Thanks for stopping by!

My new banner birthday card

I made this with Kathy Martin's banner digi doodle. It came out so cute. I printed out some other digital papers, sewed down some fabrics and went to town. Its so bright and cheery. A total hybrid card.

You can check out Kathy's digital doodles for sale on Two peas here.

I almost forgot to post this today! I would have been so mad at myself. I keep thinking its Monday today! lol Its going to take awhile to get back into the swing of things.

I'm back from our vaca

We're back from our trip. We had an amazing time. I didn't take that many pictures if you can believe it. We were too busy just living in the moment. Didn't want to carry cameras, etc.. I did get the waiter to take this picture on fancy night.

I took this one from our room.

I worked on some art journal pages while on the ship and I did alot of work on trying to make my own digital kit. It still needs a bit of work. I'm not 100% happy with it yet.

I wish I had Adobe Illustrator. We had a great time just relaxing and doing nothing really. We didn't even get off the ship. We enjoyed it while everyone was off of it.

I'm already ready for another cruise. lol.

I'm trying to catch up and get back into the routine of things. I feel like I'm on behind mode. Leo is mad that grandma is gone and there is no one to follow his ever whim and make him right all the time. *chuckles*

I'm off school this week which is wonderful. I am so glad. No bankruptcy or tort law this week! I finished my homework for in there last night so I don't have it hanging over my head.

I did go to the gym 3x's on the boat and did a spin class on the boat. A very tall athletic black guy did the class and WOO doggie he was hard. I loved him. I wish I could take spin classes from him every week. He had the bests music and he was hard! He kept telling everyone "PEDAL PEDAL or no desserts for you!" lol.

I still ate way too much and need to go to the gym today and get back into lose this excess 10 lbs mode.

Glad to be back! Trying to catch up on everyone's blogs. Love ya! Thanks for stopping by!

Heart the art post thirteen

I am hopefully on my cruise relaxing, enjoying, and being warm. Don't hate me. I can understand small amounts of jealousy. It is after all a needed break and who are we kidding we all need those once in awhile right?

That's what this week's art prompt is about. What you need. Something you need that isn't money though. Something you might need from someone else or many some else's. Hugs, understanding, support?? There is so many things that sometimes people need in life and just don't get. I felt that way when I made this page.

I painted the page and inked it. I drew the pandas in pencil then painted them in watercolors, I then went over them in colored pencils. I wrote the journaling in my new Sharpie fine point pen. I love that thing.

Well thanks for stopping by. I'll be back soon and will be catching up on everyone's blogs. Love you all! Lots of pictures to share when I get back!

Left on a big boat

I'm officially on vacation. I wanted to share one of my new canvas paintings I did the other day. I am not really strong at canvas work so I'm really happy at how this turned out.

I did lots of layering with papers, some paint, some gesso, some american craft white stickers, some cosmo cricket pp, and my hand carved stamp elephant stamped in acrylic paint.

Here is my Thurs favs mosaic too. Thanks for looking!

Trying to keep up

I feel like I have so much to do. So much I'm forgetting. I just worry, worry, worry. I worry that the ship will sink. That Lewis and I will be sick on the ship. Though this will still be a vacation because when I'm sick I still have to take care of kidlets. At least if I'm sick on a ship they'll be making my food and I can sleep all day.

I'm worried I'll forget something. My mom will need something and won't be able to get ahold of me. Oh jeez.. the list goes on and on.

Here's what I've been doing today to distract myself/kinda get ready/just pictures of my day.

Making some chocolate chip cookies, not that I NEED to eat these at all. Missed gym last two days because Logan is sick. (I don't wanna talk about that. *sigh*)

Reading material for the cruise!

Some of my fav ATC's Lauren sent me. With my hand carved stamps featured on them.

My new inspiration wall.

Digital kit I had to buy today, because well wow. I wish I could do this apprentice thing. That would be so cool. Maybe next year. I don't have Adobe Illustrator or the real Adobe Photoshop. I'm thinking I need both. Lewis will not be pleased to hear this. eek!

Isn't this a cool kit though? I love Julia Makotinski. Her drawings are amazing.

Well I have to go work on getting more stuff done. The laundry is forever long. My to do list is way too long. And Logan is feeling better meaning things are getting more difficult to keep Leo away from him.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Digital Doodles by Kathy Martin

I have found myself to be on a new DT team! I am pleased to be working with a talented lady named Kathy Martin who sells digital doodles on Two peas. They are very versatile and can be used in any art form. Heck I should know! I use them in everything!

Here's the first one I've worked with. Its a gift package set. Cute eh? Most of the other digital creations are from recreation 23 kit.

The second really pastel card with the flower I colored it with the souffle pens and then wiped it with my finger while it was still wet. I really liked how that looked. How wet paint like it looks right?

I really liked the image. I can't wait to use next weeks doodle. Its really something its really something popular right now that is uber cute!

This last card I used the mat of Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry patterned paper with the pears to match the image. How cute!! I love that paper. I'm always at a loss at what to use it on. I love these colors. Very spring.

My layout is being voted on over on Sketchy Thursday's for the GDT spot for April. I'm getting my butt kicked so far. lol. But thats okay. I love that it was chosen. I mean its not a digi blog so thats awesome. Go check it out. Vote for whomever you like. :)
Well thanks for looking! Have a great Tuesday. Go check out Kathy's other doodles.

Sushi Date night Layout

I did a new digital layout for pencil lines last night. I have wanted to scrap this picture for ages! Finally! I need to try to do some regular scrapbooking with actual REAL printed pictures, but dang... sometimes that can be such a pain! This is so much fun.

Here's the sketch.

And here's my layout I came up with.

I had to draw the little sushi on there freehand so he's not the best in the world, but its cute enough I think. Everything else is an assortment of this and that from every other place you can think of. The flowers and wood frame are from"Its so me" kit on afterfive designs. The torn heart the sushi is on is from recreation23 on afterfivedesigns. The green background is from the LBA surfer dude kit on littledreamerdesigns.com. The darker green shaped mat is from vintage appleseed by Michelle Clement. The flower pattern border line is from a patterned paper that I extracted just that part by markita designs on littledreamerdesigns. If there are any other questions to where any specific piece is from I can tell ya!

I actually did NOT go to Orlando this weekend. I KNOW I KNOW! You all are going to start thinking I'm fibbing! Well at very last minute again she called and told me her oldest daughter had strep. Yes, she does actually want me to come see her. lol. We just have the odds against us. This ever long winter and 6 kids under 7 years old with three of them being school aged and the other 3 putting ever thing in their mouth gross you can think of well.. we're screwed. I won't see her till spring. The REAL spring. Not this little teaser here and there mother nature is playing on us. Right ladies? Isn't that a kicker? Till I can put my jeans away I'm not going to be a happy camper.

Today I am count down till our cruise. Only 4 days. I have a billion things to do. Including making lists, shopping, packing, cleaning, a midterm in Tort law, bankruptcy law class tonight and as many gym trips as I can fit in.

I will be scheduling a heart the arts prompt to kick off on Saturday. I have it ready to go! Just gotta scan it in.

I also wanted to show you my new way of storing my acrylic paints. I read about doing it a little different from this blog post. It made sense! Its so much easier and compact!

They were made for bead storage. I got the container thing from J's w/ a coupon. It works really well. The big white containers hold gel medium in one and gesso in the other. I really like it. Only thing is if I open more than one at a time in the same row it can get a little messy. Eh! But who am I to pass up a little paint mess.

Speaking of that I need to make myself an apron. I'm painting up way too much of my clothes.

Well gotta go. Thanks for stopping by!

Heart the art prompt week twelve lucky

Now I know how cliche should this week be with the theme lucky? Well I figured I wanted to do more than that. More than just the word lucky. I mean we all know we are lucky in some ways and unlucky in others.

The things I like seeing, the things that really get me thinking are proverbs. Especially Irish blessings, proverbs, and even.. quotes about being lucky.

I found this quote about being lucky. I originally intended to do an Irish proverb on the oil pastel page, but this quote stuck out at me in my personal life.

I did find this site with a ton of Irish proverbs. All very cool indeed. Heck even if you wanted to do a Japanese proverb or bible proverbs, have at it. It doesn't have to even be about luck in any way. Just a proverb, quote or blessing would be incredibly cool on an art journal page. Just something that makes you think. A moment in time about your life right now, or something you are thinking.

So for this week the prompt is.... Irish blessings, quotes, proverbs (or other nations)

Here is what I came up with.

The journaling says "Love is like an earthquake- unpredictable, a little scary, but when the hard part is over you realize how lucky you are."

Yesterday, I started making something new with different fabrics I had. I made some clay pieces to use with the fabric. I came up with some neat embellishments I plan on selling in my Etsy. I think they turned out very cute. I hope to have them in my Etsy by Sunday. I'm selling them in small lots. The flamingo's are hand painted and are my hand carved stamp. If you want to see them closer up click on the pictures. They can be used on cards, art journal projects, fabric projects, or scrapbooking layouts.

We watched Big Fish last night. Needless to say I cried. I always cry from movies. It doesn't take much. Heck stupid Ghost Whisperer tv show used to make me cry. lol. I have no shame. I'll put that out there on the internet.

I remember when I was younger, my college roommate and I went to see Stepmom in the theater. We cried the whole movie practically. We had to leave in shame and sneak out because our faces were so streaked and bloodshot eyes. We had friends that worked there that would have totally made fun of us. I'd love to hear what movie makes you cry every time even if you are hardcore.

I'm in Orlando right now hopefully having a great time with my friend and our combined 6 kids under 7 years old. Yes wish me luck. ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see what you guys do with the prompt. Add them to the flickr group!

Caladium's

I was going to participate in the annual Caladium festival in my mom's town till I went and checked out their website for it. Its 100 bucks for a table and thats fine. But I have to have a picture of my stuff that I'll be selling and a pic of my "exhibit". The second part of this becomes the problem. I was going to make stuff in the next few months to sell. Also I've never done this before so I'd have to make up a mock "exhibit". eh.. I don't know if I want to do all that now. But I would love to sell my wares at a real craft fair. Worth it or not? Not sure yet.

Well this is two prints I made to sell so far. I like how they turned out.

I've been feeling better. Still haven't braved the gym. I figure this week can just be a wash. I'll live. Hopefully my pants will still fit next week. This weekend I'm going to Orlando for real this time. If no kidlets get the sickies. Lets hope. I'll put heart the arts prompt to be published Saturday.

Yesterday I bought Big Fish. I've been in a real Tim Burtony kinda mood. I guess getting ready to see Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait.

I watched Corpse Bride the other night for the first time. Ooh how I love it. Its only 5 bucks at Target right now! I couldn't believe it. Logan and Leo love it too. We've watched it four times now.

I wanted to buy Nightmare before Christmas which I love, but do not own on dvd, but it was 25 bucks at Target. Whats that about?? It wasn't even Bluray! Logan and Leo love that movie too. Don't even get me started on how many times I've watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Logan. A BAZillion! I love that movie. I need to start doing some Tim Burtonesque projects. That'd be awesome.

If anyone is curious or interested. The kids book is still in the works. I'm not really feeling my original drawings that much and I'm deciding if I'm going in a different illustration direction or to stick with what I have so far. I haven't given up on it, but I have put it on the back burner to think about. The flamingo with the tube socks has been given up on. Sorry. There was no saving it. lol

Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for the Heart the arts prompt for art journaling!

Digi Dare layout

I am always loving doing all sorts of different dares/challenges/prompts on the web. Its my thing. It gets my creative juices flowing. Heck thats why I made up my own Heart the arts to do. (can't wait to post this Saturday's prompt!!)

I used to do the Digi Dares pretty often, but when I started doing a little less digital stuff I stopped. I'm doing my fair share of digital stuff again so I wanted to do this week's dare.

Its to do a heritage page, with a little bit of green, a shabby looking frame, grungy paper, and typewriter font. Check, check, check.....

Here's what I came up with. Its a picture of my grandmother as a child that is so dark I could never get it printed out and have it look good. It looks good on this layout. I only have the original that is very dark. I hope this printed out looks as nice. Click on the layout to see it bigger.

Most of the elements were from recreation 23 kit on After Five designs. Pretty much 90% of the layout. I love that kit. Its huge, and has all kinds of cool antiquey looking pieces in it.

I also wanted to post a new art journal page I made the other day too. This one was really cathartic for me. I feel really upset that I'm possibly going to mess up my upcoming cruise with Lewis with all this medication switching. It really takes a toll on me. I should have kept my lip zipped and stayed on what I was on. I have to call my doctor tomorrow. The new stuff isn't cutting it. I'm afraid to start something else new with us leaving in a week! Bah!

I'm feeling a little bit better. I did two caladium art pieces yesterday I'm in love with. I hope to get them scanned in soon. I took some cute candid shots of the boys yesterday too. I plan on going to the gym today and get back into trying to get in shape for the cruise. I really really need to tone down. I've been having a free for all and can't seem to focus on what I need to do! Hour of cardio today on a machine here I come!

Thanks for stopping by! Oh I'm obsessed with getting this dress from New York and Company should I shirk off going to the gym one more day to get it? Or this dress ...whichever fits better or get my butt into the gym so I can buy said dresses at a later date and actually look good in them? haha

Oh and before I forget this week's Thursday fav mosaic for flickr favs.

The day of lions

I'm just in a liony kinda mood I guess. I've made two new pieces that are lion inspired. First I played with wax again and made a new wood piece to hand on the wall in Leo's room. I have two other framed lion images and this makes a third to go in his room. I love it. I wish I had got better pictures. I'll have to take pictures of it hung once I get the hardware to hang it.

I also drew and watercolor painted this in my art journal the other day. I love how it turned out.

I spent the night last night in bed watching tutorials on youtube about perfect pearls and I watched the newest episode of Project Runway. This while sitting in bed with a heating pad on my belly. I am so sick. Blah! I hate feeling like this. Day two with no gym. I should be in there gettin' my fitness on so I look good in my cruise vacation pictures. Instead I'm eating rice with soy sauce and orange sherbet for dinner. I know don't gag. Its the only thing I could stand eating! eeww..

Today will hopefully be better. No gym probably. Didn't go to class last night. Hope to get my shipment of art supplies today. I'm getting some gouache paints to play with!! I also have some new rubber blocks coming to carve. I'm down to two. I hate being down to only one or two blocks.

I started drawing a caladium watercolor picture last night I hope to share that soon. Also the new Caardvarks should be up in a couple days on the 20th. I'm so ready!!

Well I need to get moving. Thanks for looking! Oh and Happy St. PATRICKS!

Winner! of March Giveaway...

I forgot to add it to my earlier post. But .....

Julie!!! you won the cherry blossom stamp set. Send me an email at tyggereye@yahoo.com so I can send out your stamps.

congrats!!

Thanks for everyone's input on their favorite stamps. Pretty much it was all across the board. Not much the same of any of them. Everyone had a unique choice of which they liked. Very interesting!

I'll have another giveaway next month!

I did two cards yesterday holy crud! 2S4Y

What can I say? I love myself some 2S4Y sketches. I am really happy with the two cards I made for this week too. I'm feeling the card creative juices!

Here's the first sketch.

And here is what I came up with.

I hand cut out the pear and inside the pear just by eye. The brown stem is a border sticker by SEI. The white brackets are thickers. The scraps sewn down to make the background are mostly BG. The green circle journal rub on is Hambly. The heart and saying are from KI memories. I cut the banner by eye.

They had a bonus sketch this week that I couldn't resist too. Here's the sketch.

And here's the card I made.

The cherry blossom branch and flower stamps are my hand carved stamps. I tried to restamp the flowers over and over to get a moving effect. Not sure if I succeeded. lol I did lots of sewing on this card too.

I'm really enjoying getting the chance to make so much stuff lately. I've been lucky to find the time and energy.

Yesterday I did not go to the gym. I didn't feel well. I still don't. I hate being sick. Last night I ate a ton of orange sherbet, because my throat hurt. I hate that feeling. Where you just want to numb your throat with either hot or cold. I even bought chicken noodle soup on the way home from Bankruptcy law. I had to go. We were turning in our take home exams last night.

She gave us a TON TON of paperwork do a "fake" bankruptcy filing. Its not too bad though as I was sick, ignoring her and going through it on my own. So there was no stamp designing last night unfortunately.

I think I might work on doing some stuff to sell in my Etsy shop for the next few days. I'm really caught up with most of the challenges I enjoy doing if you can believe it. I need to order more carving blocks. I'm down to two blocks. Eep!

I want to do some new caladium flower oil pastel pictures. I will tell you why at a later date. That and some manatee stuff. Go Florida!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards blog

Did ya see that yesterday I won on 2S4Y?? I was blown away. I seriously never thought I'd win. Well I thought I'd come in the top five, but that was it. I did love that card. Its unique. Its me. Sometimes the things you make just make you happy and blow you away. I love when that happens. Sometimes magic mixes in with creativity and Voila'! I'm still so tickled pink about it. I can't wait to get the stamps. *rubs hands together*

I found the CARDS blog and saw that their challenge this week is to put a birds on a card, but no owls. I was so happy to see this. I really wanted to do a robin card lately because of it being spring and all. Here's what I came up with.

I love it. The robin is my hand carved stamp. The rose I got from the floral section in Michaels. It was white. I dyed it red with distress ink red reinkers. The card has sewn down pieces and bits of mostly BG scraps. The sticker Happy is SRM stickers. Cute huh?

I have been getting a bit backed up with my challenges. I did this layout for Design Dollies a few days ago. Here's the sketch.

and here's the digital layout I made from it. I can't wait to get this printed out and put in Leo's scrapbook.

Sunday was uneventful. I could list five things I should have done. But didn't. I can list only 2, that I managed to get done.

I cleaned the kitchen and the boys bathroom.

I should have cleaned the pantry, Leo's closet, vaccuumed, etc... Oh well.. Nobody's coming over anytime soon. I'm horrible about going into a frenzy if someone is coming over. I don't care if its the 15 year old babysitter. I will clean like a maniac and make sure everything is in its place. Hubby thinks I'm crazy. Sometimes I do too. Why do I care if my house is out of place? I mean don't the majority of us live in our house, not a museum?? This is while I write this wearing my pj's at 5:30 pm on Sunday. Don't judge! I just keep telling myself I'm getting paints out today. Don't want to get my good clothes painted up. Not like most don't have paint/bleach/ wax marks on them. haha

Well tomorrow is a new day. I need to work hard at the gym. I will not be doing the spin class again. Olga I tolerated last week and her music about killed me. No rave while on a spin bike PLEASE! She then offered up her latin music this week. No thanks..

Right now my top pop songs three to exercise to are:
1. telephone - lady gaga and beyounce
2. take out- timberland
3. Rude boy- rihanna
4. Imma be- black eyed peas

Listening in the car is the new Alice in Wonderland Almost Alice soundtrack. I love it!! 4, 8 and 9 are my favs!! I love LOVE Robert Smiths song number 9. They are all cool. I can't wait to see the movie.

Well gotta go. Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.

SRM stickers Baby cards!

I received some great happy mail on Friday afternoon. My bud, Jen sent me some SRM stickers to try out. I have been eyeballing them for quite awhile on the SRM blog. I do like my stickers. I enjoy using anything that makes my life easier and quicker ya know? Most days I don't feel like fishing out my letter stamps to make a sentiment on a card. These are nice because they stick on easy and my fav part is they are easily colored on.

Now this isn't something I've seen anyone else try yet. But I of course feel the need to color on EVERYTHING that isn't moving. I used my new souffle pens that are shown in the pic to the right on them and they held the color really well! Next I plan on trying out some copic markers on them! I'll keep ya informed. ;)
(I didn't color the stickers on top, the cupcake or red frame those come that way)

You can see in this card I made how I used the SRM stickers and then colored on them a little bit. All the little safety pins, heart, and flowers are SRM stickers as is the word art on the card. Neat huh? Makes the stickers pretty versatile.

I did this boy card too. The elephant is my hand carved stamp. I just drew the balloon caption with my white signo ball pen.

I love Sundays. I'm a big fan of the Sunday paper. I can't not get it. I love looking through the paper ads. I love getting a Michael's coupon. Yes those things still sucker me into the store. I love reading the comics with Logan. His favorite is Garfield. Mine is Foxtrot.

There really is no other plans for today. We went and got all kinds of herbs and tomato plants for the back yard yesterday. I hope to soon have little cherry tomatoes fresh from my backyard for my salads. Those things are expensive!! Last night was Leo's first night in a toddler bed. He wasn't having the big boy full sized bed. So I turned his crib into a toddler bed. (essentially that means taking off the rail. He loved that. But I think he's still wishing he could just climb out of his regular crib.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday. Thanks for all the great comments yesterday for the giveaway. I love hearing what everyone's fav stamps of mine are. It always surprises me!

Bye!

Saturday Heart the arts journal week 11 + giveaway

Every week I do this, I can't believe another week has flown by. I have to keep the fact that Saturday is coming in the front of my mind to make sure I get these done each week.

This week I have been thinking alot about my decision to switch my major to art. I am so glad I did. It has made me very happy. It makes me realize that I am following my true dreams now. Not what is "safe" to do. Not what is expected of me. What I really crave to do. What I truly feel I'm meant to do.

So this week's prompt is....Fearless

What are you fearless about? What do you wish you were fearless about? Is there someone in your life who is truly fearless you wish you could be like? Or are you that person?

Here's what I came up with.

I painted the page at my mom's house while playing watercolor paints with Leo. He was coloring in his Elmo coloring book and I would slap on some paint on my page in between paint dips. I then drew some lines with a gel pen. The square part was a part of a card I made that I didn't like so I hacked it up and added the part I did like to this. The fearless stickers are BG. One of the bottom layers is a bee hand carved stamp I made.

Last night we watched Couples Retreat movie. It was really cute. It had some funny parts. I can't tell you how much I like Jason Bateman. I'm so glad his acting career is back on track. I love seeing him in movies. I used to totally be infatuated with him when I was younger and he was on Valerie(aka Hogan's family).

Today my only plans are to work on creating a bit, clean a bit, and take a large load of baby stuff to the consignment store. Not too shabby. I think it will probably rain all day like yesterday. Not a big fan of rain, but will take it any day over the cold. I really don't like the cold.

I want to do another giveway. I do them monthly as you know so here's this month's stamp giveaway! Its one of my large cherry blossom hand carved stamp sets. I had to do this one for March. This is the month they bloom in D.C. I want to go one year and see them. God I bets its gorgeous.

To win this stamp set all you have to do is leave me a comment by Monday 10 pm EST telling me which stamp I carve is your fav. All of them are in my Etsy store or you can check out my flickr set. From either one. Leave the comment here. Can't wait to see what everyone says.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. Can't wait to see what you do with the prompt!

2S4Y card and bee book!!

I realized one thing when making this card. There is no such thing as too many layers. I love this card. I loved the sketch as soon as I saw it. I have a feeling I'll be making a few cards in the future with this sketch in mind.

Here's the sketch from 2S4Y this week.

Here's what I came up with.

The ribbon was sewn down. The background pp is SEI. There's gesso on there. The image is from this flickr site. I love this group. It so neat to find great images to use in projects. The circle is more of the SEI paper, the heart is a sticker, the Thanks letters are BG stickers, and there is of course lots of sewing on there. Vintage word print paper included too.

The other thing I wanted to share with you guys I'm very excited about too! I did another little notebook yesterday for my bee challenge. This is day 4/5. Its all paper pieced. I did it by hand not drawing something first. I just picked up scraps and cut away. The flowers were mostly cut out of BG patterned paper. Pretty freaking cool huh? Well I love it. I have a feeling both notebooks will be ending up in my Etsy soon!

Yesterday consisted of some gym and lots of rain. Nothing exciting. I am starting some new medication and won't be taking the insomnia medication anymore. Will this mean that I get less done? Probably. Lets hope not though.

Tomorrow is the new Heart the arts journal prompt. Also there will be a certain monthly thing happening tomorrow!! My usual blog readers know what this means. Come back tomorrow to see what I have in store for all you fab readers of my blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchy Ninja Digi

I love myself some the pink ninja's blog. So when I saw they were hosting the current challenge on Sketchy Thursdays I knew I had to do the sketch. There was just no way not to. And the prompt was way cool.

The prompt was "If I could "blank", I would "blank". AND to use pink paint, AND this sketch.

I came up with this digital sketch. I used a vintage children image of the tree and crows.

Thursday already... lets see. I slacked off and did not go to the gym yesterday. The day before running 4 miles killed my legs. I realized I'm a big wuss who needs to do that more to get myself used to that! It didn't seem like much when I was doing it, but dang the next day. OW!

Leo is officially on his way out of the crib into a big boy bed. *sigh* I was hoping to hold this off till at least I don't know June? He has been climbing out every night for 3 nights now. He came up to me yesterday morning at 6 am while I was on the computer. He always gets up finds us and says "WAAKE". Then I ask him "Are you wet?". He'll say no, WAKE! Then I'll say "Oh you're awake". And he'll agree and ask for juice. Little nut. Its one in the morning and I'm nervous he'll come out here at any minute. urgh.. That would really cut into my insomniac time.
Crap Logan just got up to go to the bathroom. The kid tried to sneak into the livingroom and play Wii. Jeez!

I really wanted to show off my new wood portrait I made with an old portrait drawing I did when I was in like 9th grade and wax! It turned out so cool. I colored the wax with oil pastels. It made that pretty blue. Cool huh? I don't think I'm going to be able to part with this. Ever.

Wow this is becoming a pretty big blog post. I actually have enough stuff made to share to have blog posts for the rest of the week. I thought I would take a few days off from the art stuff because of that. Chaa!! As if! I can't it seems. The thought seems utterly silly to me. I'm in a groove and I'm not stopping till it stops.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!
