Sushi choices

I'm sitting here right now thinking about getting some pictures printed out from Walgreens to do actual *gasp* traditional scrapbooking. I think I have a few other pictures to work with first. I also need to send Dani a picture to swap. I'm working on it Dani!! Sorry I'm so slow.

I wanted to show a new digi layout I did with my sushi kit. I figured this would be fun to have in my album for the future. What we all eat now. I should go get some pictures of us getting sushi, but this is fun with out any pictures. Its made with my digital kit, Sushi tonight. All of it is mine.

Yesterday I forgot to add my mosaic for this week for Thursday fav's on flickr. Here it is!

1. tea atc, 2. Lampions d'Asie, 3. Where Troubles Melt Like Lemondrops, 4. Untitled, 5. 64/365, 6. Doe eyes, 7. scent of summer, 8. Apothecary's, 9. large hare molie

Today is a big day planned. Target run for essentials. Then we are going to a jumpy place to burn out some of Leo's energy. Then I'm going to the mall to return a few things. I'm still so sore from yoga its unbelievable. Is it weird I'm excited to do it again?

I hope you all will come to my blog tomorrow to see my freebie and check out the newest heart the art journal prompt!

See ya then!

Butterfly congrats

I keep doing these night posts. Not my typical, but thats okay as long as I keep up with my blog.

I finished something really quickly tonight that I'm totally excited about. This Saturday in honor of National Scrapbooking day you must come by my blog. There will be a freebie!! Exciting!

Today I got some card mojo on. I made this card for the current 2S4Y sketch. I also incorporated the use of kraft paper for this challenge on Jacksonbelle Embellishments Blog. I used kraft paper as the base and layered many vintage images with pop ups and such. Very cute. I love this card. Its so pretty. The stamping around it says "Congrats you"

I wanted to show off a lovely gift I got from Lauren in the mail today. This made my day! Sushi erasers??!!! I love em! She made the card with my digital kit Sushi tonight.

I went to the gym this morning and did my very first yoga class. I am hurting now. My back feels like it is spasming. Seriously either my posture was wrong or I am seriously weak in between my shoulder blades. Whats up with that?? It was relaxing and challenging at the same time. I probably will do it again if and when I recover.

Tomorrow is Friday. I'm glad. This is the first week we have no plans for a whole weekend in over a month AND its National scrapbook day this Saturday. I wish I was able to get a few hours to myself and be able to scrap. I will be able to manage to check out all the kickin' digital scrapbooking sales online. *rubs hands together*

Right now I'm debating about either :
A. watching Army wives online
B. working on my new dino stamps
C. going to bed
D. watching my Netflix Whip it movie

Exciting stuff over here. :) Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Digi dares layout / Scrap that baby challenge and winner!!

Okay first things first. The winner of my sushi hand carved stamp is AMY of Tsuruta designs!! Congrats!! I choose a name out of a bowl and you were it girlie! Email me your addy and I'll send out your stamp. My email is tyggereye@yahoo.com.

I made this layout this morning for a Digi Dares challenge and a Scrap that baby challenge combined. The Digi Dares challenge was to do something

Old: the clouds I've had forever in my digi stash
Blue: Blue clouds and ribbon
Borrowed: I liked the ribbon and big font look of Sarah's layout
New: The lion is from this kit on 2peas and is NEW!

It was fun to do an old photo of Leo. My little smooshy baby who is quickly leaving toddlerhood to be a big boisterous boy.

Tonight I made Julia Child's Beef bourguignon. It was hard and I had to finally go with doing it my "altered" way. I gave up on all the bazillion steps. So it turned out kinda good, but took over 4 hours total to make. I won't be doing that again. Beef stew will just work next time thanks..

I also finished The Time traveler's wife book yesterday. WHAT a great read!! I did love the book. 4 out of 5 stars easy. I want to see the movie now.

Out to find a new book in the next few days to read. Might just wait for my Sookie Stackhouse that will be coming in the mail shortly.

Gotta go to bed now. I've been told that hubby is going to bed. I hate staying up and not going to bed with him. So I'm off!

Hope everyone's day went well. Hope to have more arty goodness to share soon. I am ready for Saturday!! New Heart the arts prompt will be fab!

Kite stickers and Date Day

We had a great day yesterday. Being Leo free since my parents took him home after Logan's party, Lewis and I had the opportunity to spend the whole day together without kids. Logan had school. We went shopping at my favorite thrift stores that are totally not fun with kids whining to leave.

I got these:

I love vintage books. I got alot more than these that will be cut up into little pieces of goodness soon. But these are my keepers. I actually collect some vintage kids books and would never EVER Ever cut them up to use for art projects. These are some of my keepers.

We also had lunch at our favorite Indian place. It was really good. I also splurged on a dipped cone from Dairy queen. (not good, but delicious!)

I managed a quick trip into Michaels to use my coupon on some ghost Heidi Swapp letters and then we went and saw Date Night at the movie theater. It was okay. Fun date movie. Had some good parts.

Tort law got canceled again tonight. I'm amazed. Glad..but utterly shocked that he again is shafting us. I mean next week is our final!!! Oh well. It is what it is. AND I get to stay home tonight!

I got the ingredients yesterday to make this. I'm scared! It also will take forever I'm sure.

I finished another cute little project with the kite digital doodle by Kathy Martin. Its so cute. My favorite of hers by far. I just got next week's doodle today and have BIG plans for it. Its my new fav.

I made stickers to put on my envelopes I send out to people. Snail mail stickers. You could also make them with your return address. You just get the Avery printable stickers, and add some text and color in her doodle and voila!

Well I am off to try to finish a card or an art page or something. Then I have to bathe Logan. Then I have to fall into an exhausted heap of a person, because I am dog tired! I got Whip it from Netflix to watch, but dang I don't know if that will fit into my eye's schedule. They are closing while I'm writing this blog entry. They are saying enough!

Remember you have till tonight at 10 to comment on this blog entry for the chance to win one of my hand carved sushi stamps! I'll be posting tomorrow with the winner. Thanks for stopping by!

The birthday party

We had a great time. We had the party at an indoor putt putt place. It was short, fast, and fun. Few things I'd do different if I could, but overall a success.

Here's some pictures. This is the Indiana Jones cake I altered. It was a dinosaur cake. I pulled those off and added some Indiana Jones lego guys. There wasn't any Indiana Jones cakes at Publix.

Here's Logan's hair.

Logan playing indoor putt putt at his party

Logan with Lewis and I getting ready to open his presents from us. His fav present was his new Nintendo DSi. He loves it! I am off to Bankruptcy law as soon as I finish my cocoa. Boo hiss. I don't wanna go. I'm way behind in craft projects. I am way behind in calling back friends on the phone. I am going to reorganize the garage tomorrow because I got two new shelves today and it needs to be done since I will be with out Leo. Eep! Gotta get moving!

Pink Ninja Dream challenge

I'm sitting here reading the Sunday paper. I love getting it. I stopped for awhile because I felt guilty about the paper. I was being green and stopped getting it, because of the killing trees aspect, but honestly that only lasted so long. I need those bright shiny ads. I don't use paper towels. I haven't for years. I think thats a fair trade.

I'm looking through the Michael ad right now. Coupon....yum... Dang those coupons. I love em'. Its like if you don't use them then well.. you are almost losing money right? haha Gotta use em. Well I try to only use one a month. Its hard. There really isn't anything I need right now. I think I would like some more paper punches. I also wouldn't mind some more distress stickles or maybe even some of their prima flowers. Really though I don't use many flowers on anything I make. I also wouldn't be to bad off if I got some mini misters or a set of Tim Holtz's clear stamps. oooh..

I could go on forever about the crafting supplies I could always use. You'd think I'd have a warehouse to store all my stuff. I SO don't. Teeny weeny space.

I saw this challenge on the pink ninja's blog and did this up yesterday. You are supposed to use the word dream, buttons, and no patterned paper. Its a oil pastel picture I drew and colored and then I scanned it in and added digital elements.

I really like the Poe quote.

Today is Logan's birthday party. I have tons to do. I'm stressed, but not overly. I am ready for it to be over. Its just an hour and a half. It'll go by fast. Lewis is graciously watching Leo so hopefully all will go well.

Only thing that is kinda funny/annoying/not cool is Logan decided to cut his hair and Leo's yesterday with some scissors when we were not aware. They both have funny chunky weird bang hair. Of course he does this the day before his party when I AM going to have pictures taken and documented of both of them at the party. *sigh*

This is of course my karma. I could not get too mad. When I was around that age maybe a little younger I cut my hair and the hair of my quite long haired Shiz Tu dog, the day before we went to get family pictures done. lol

Well I'm off to shower, hit Walmart, Publix for the cake and then we are going to lunch before his party. My camera should be charged and all should be good to go. Leo is going home with my parents for a few days so I'm going to have a break from the little one. I'm quite excited about that. I need some down time and I need to study for my upcoming final exams in my classes. Monday Lewis took off so we are going to go on a date day. We need it!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my very long blog post today.

Have a great Sunday!

Heart the arts week 17 prompt AND a surprise showing of my sushi mini kit.

This week is going to be a longer blog post than most. So much going on this week. I decided last minute to show off my new digital kit today! First things first.

Every week so far on Saturday I post a new art journal page prompt. This week I wanted to do something different. So I made a hybrid one. I've been doing alot of one sentence journaling of sorts in my books. Through out the week I just kind of write down things that go through my brain. No digging deep. Just random thoughts that I write down.

That is this week's prompt... Thoughts

Here's what I came up with. Most of it is digital on the page and printed out. I added letter stickers and rub ons to the page to make it hybrid. I really love how pretty this looks in my book.

The suspense has ended. I can wait no longer!! This is my newest mini kit. Its called "Sushi tonight?". Its a smaller kit mainly with just embellishments and papers. It is not as big as my other "of the water kit" digital kit.

I love how it turned out. I hand drew all the sushi pieces. I made all the papers myself. I haven't seen anything quite like it out there. I hope that everyone loves it as much as me! You can buy it in my Etsy. I am still having hubby working on my website to be able to download from. When you buy this for the time being it is sent to you in two separate emails.

I made this card with the kit using the newest 2S4Y sketch this week.

My Favorite DT designer, (my only one, she's my bud and extremely talented) made this with the kit. Go check out Lauren's cool card and blog.

In honor of the coolness that I made another digital kit, I want to giveaway a coordinating hand carved stamp. I'm going to be drawing a lucky winner on Wednesday to win my sushi hand carved stamp. Just leave a comment on this post by Tuesday 10EST telling me what your favorite type of sushi is or if you don't like sushi at all.

Here's the stamp for the giveaway. I giveaway one hand carved stamp a month. Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Carving and watching

It turns out that things seem to be changing again medication wise. I'm thrilled. I know this is weird to start a blog post off with, but hey..who cares right? I went to my doctor yesterday. I told her of how I passed out in the middle of the night getting Logan medicine. It turns out that the medication does affect and low your blood pressure in some way and because mine is so naturally low and I am so sensitive to meds its not good for me to stay on that kind. I've switched back to what I liked being on. (very glad about this) I'm just going down to half the amount since I'm so sensitive. Maybe then I'll be able to sleep. (I'd be okay if I sleep a little less. I'd get more done!)

I also need to get this 12 lbs off I've gained and this medicine is less likely to make me hold onto that. Thank goodness!

What does this mean for my own little personal blogland readers? Me probably being more productive and creative and less "downish". I just have felt so blah the last few weeks. I am really hoping that this brings me out of that. Heck last night not being knocked out sleeping all night even helped.

I worked on these yesterday. Check out all the new stamp lovelies!

I watched some A&E Hoarders shows online while carving them. Eek! That show is horrible, but hard to not watch. The lady I watched last night hoarded food. Then she'd hoard so much she had rotting food everywhere. I just can't imagine. *shivers*
I also caught up with my last show of Survivor when what the heck was J.T thinking??

Yesterday I watched a few kids shows with Leo in his favorite spot on the couch. He likes to play with my ear while watching tv. He's my little man.

Gotta go take Logan to school, and then I MUST go to the gym. When I get home I'm hoping to create some.

I do have a new mini kit that I plan on putting up for sale and debuting on Wednesday!!

Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for all the kind notes yesterday.

Thursday Dino birthday a comin'

Bloglines is down this morning. What a bummer. I love that site. I've been trying to get things together the last few days. I did manage to do this card for Logan for his birthday. Nothing grand. Just something little that I know he'd like.

He's going to be seven! I can't believe it. Wow. The days are long, but the years are short as Gretchen Rubin says in her book, the Happiness Project.

I just finished reading it. I love that book. I want to go through it and highlight some areas. I'm trying to start "The time travelers wife" by Aubrey Niffenegger, but its difficult. I'm just not in that kinda mood. Soon I will be getting the next Sookie Stackhouse. *squeal* I have it preordered on amazon. hehe

I just looked! The bastards lowered the price to 9.99!! I paid 12.99! Dang it! Oh well. Still VERY good for a hardback that I will love forever! I love that series.

This weekend I went to Orlando to visit my friend. I did actually make it. Her one daughter still had strep. She's keeps getting on antibotics and can't get rid of it. Guess who has strep now too?? haha Logan. Poor kid. He's better today and is with hubby at take your kid to work day at Lewis's work.

While I was at my friend's house she has a sister who has a dog that I am in love with. This is Lola. I wanted to steal her seriously. She's already potty trained (at 9 mths) and is the sweetest thing ever. She loves the kids and loves to snuggle. I want one! Though she does like to chew up kid toys. She'd have a field day at my house.

Isn't she the cutest?? I'm telling you once Leo is potty trained and older I might not be able to hold myself back.

Today is the infamous Thursday. This week is going by too fast. I feel stressed and don't want to go to the gym today. I'd rather go thrifting. I just might. I am in that kind of go do something fun instead mood. I'm watching Army wives online for awhile now and going to carve a few stamps. Then I will decide what to do.

I feel like I have a weight on my shoulders about Logan's party this weekend. I have most everything for it. I got him a DSI Nintendo game thing with some games for him and a new Lego set. We're going to an indoor putt putt place. I just know its going to be loud and crazy. It'll be fun, but hectic.

I just need to remember to breathe. Off to carve some stamps! Have a great day everyone.
Oh! Yes before I forget.. This week's Thursday mosaic.

Wednesday throat

I hadn't shared this digital layout I made awhile ago yet. I totally forgot and just had it in my flickr.

I made it after I scraplifted this layout by Wilna Furstenberg

I can't seem to find enough hours in the day lately.

I'm having a rough morning today because my new medicine makes me sleep. Logan woke me up at 4 am to get him medicine. I kept actually passing out back asleep while going to get the medicine.

I'm terribly tired now and kinda sore. I asked Logan if it was scary seeing me fall back asleep, but he said no.

I wish I could go back and sleep for a few hours. I have to take Logan to the doctor. I'm afraid he has strep throat. I might try to craft some of today since I do not have to go to the gym, or do drop off's or pick ups at Logans school, and I have no school tonight. Yippee!

Last night my Tort law teacher totally flaked on us and wasted our time. He's supposed to be there at 6:30. He emailed at 5:40 that he wouldn't be there till 7:15. GRR. We stayed then at 6:40 he emailed saying class was cancelled. No one checked until he didn't show at 7:15!!!! It was such a waste of time and so inconsiderate. Well he is a lawyer. haha.

So glad I'm an art major! haha!

Off to call Logan's peditrician. Then maybe get some crafty goodness done or a small snooze on the sofa done. I got Leo the Aristocrats movie from Netflix. I LOVE that movie. I could use some laying on the couch watching that with the boys.

Thanks for stopping by.

Embroidered kite

I don't think I've went this long without blogging in awhile. I went to Orlando this weekend. I got NO crafting done because of it. I had to carve a stamp Monday afternoon. I made this with Kathy's digital doodle. I just embroidered it. I haven't done anything with it yet. Not sure what I'm going to make it into yet.

I had horrible Bankruptcy class last night and she gave us horrible homework. I have to do chapter 13 papework forms and go hunt them down on the net. Boo hiss! On a good note only 4 classes left!!

I am planning last minute things for Logan's birthday this weekend. I can't wait for April to be over. Its been so overpacked and busy. I feel like I've haven't been able to do anything just relaxing in fun all month. Its just been lots of things that are fun...but TONS of work and planning. That is not relaxing.

I need to go shower, get Leo down for a nap, get ready for school tonight. I wanted to carve a stamp or two or make this week's 2s4y card but alas, I doubt I'll get much of that done.

Gotta try. Hope to catch up on my noting people soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Heart the arts week 16 prompt

Every week I work on different things. This week I am pulling out a page that isn't that complicated. Its just something I had drawn for a very long time I wanted to add to a page. An ephemera page you could say. Sure my page is a drawing, but its a drawing I've had cut out and hanging out in my drawers forever.

This week's prompt is using something you have in your drawer. It could be a recipt, tag, picture, drawing, whatever.

ephemera

So many options and ways you could go with this. First things first raid those inspiration boards and paper scrap drawers for something!

Here's the drawing I've had forever and used on my page. I mounted it down with bees wax. I just liked the smoothness of the page when I did so. The rest of the words are thickers and rub ons. I drew this little snake after reading the book Verdi by Janell Cannon. I love children books illustrations. They are so pretty. I know I know. I'm still working on my kids book.

I actually have my second digital kit in the works first. I should be hopefully showing off my second digital kit which will be a mini kit in the next week or so.

Can't wait to see whateveryone does with this prompt. I am treking off to Orlando today or hoping to, if there is no kid sicknesses. We'll see. Fingers crossed. Be back M onday!

Caardvark baby card

Here's what I made for the current baby card challenge for Caardvarks. I had the hardest time thinking in blue or pinks so I just kinda went with a unisex type baby card.

I also wanted to show off some custom stamps I made last night. One of my blog readers sent me these cool pictures her son drew and I made them into hand carved stamps. Today has to be a short blog post. I'm going to a pool exercise class today and already running late. Thanks for stopping by!

2S4Y card and my first hybrid card with my kit!

This weeks sketch on 2S4Y is this.. I had to do it! I love tall long cards.

I came up with this..

The Hi is from Cosmo Cricket pp. The peacock is a K&company sitcker I got from Michaels. The blue pp on the base of the card is BG and the polka dot pp is cosmo Cricket. I stitched around the card with embroidery floss. Loving peacocks right now.

I also wanted to show off the hybrid card I made with my digital kit! I made this card yesterday too.

The background is printed out watercolor from my kit. The frame is also from my kit as is the coral and turtle who is popped up with some pop up foam. The friend sentiment is thickers.

I also wanted to give a BIG shout out to Lauren who did many hybrid cards with my kit that are AWESOME. She out did herself seriously.

My house is a mess. Today is get house in order day. It is also take one hour spin class day. Those are my plans. Nothing grand. Nothing too drastic or horrible. Oh there is two phone calls I need to make. Those are at the top of my hate to do list. Why is it I would rather clean 5 bathrooms and do 3 loads of laundry instead of call people on the phone that I have to do business with? I know alot of people are like this. I get worse about it as I age. Its just annoying. I hate even calling to make appointments. Anyone else like this?

I need to get working on this week's heart the art prompt too and pronto!

So maybe I do have more than I was thinking. Off to get to it! Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday card

First off so I don't forget I'll show off my new card this week using Kathy's digital doodles. I got to use my gouache paints on it and just make a simple card that actually could be sent in the mail. Many of my cards get so bulky I can't send them in regular envelopes! I'm sure a few of you know what I'm talking about.

I am not feeling a 100% today. I am sore from yesterday's "total body workout" class, and I feel a bit fat. I'm wearing what I consider my "fat" pants/skort thing I have. haha Its stretchy, but looks better than sweats.

I really really want to make the Caardvarks baby card and feel some sort of block. I can't seem to get a good picture in my head of what I want to make!

I did make this for a woman who was very dear to my heart. She worked in the office at Logan's school for years and she was always so friendly and kind. She loved on Leo every time we came in. I'll miss her being there. I only had a day to make this so I threw it together. I think she liked it. I would have liked to do a better card, but this is what I got done. The coffee mug is from Target. I thought it was so pretty. I got the jelly beans to match.

Off to go get a little friend to play with Logan all day and then class tonight.

Oh! I wanted to mention I got a shout out here! Isn't that cool?
I love having people I don't know enjoying what I do enough to mention it on their blog or somewhere online. It makes me feel all glowy. I appreciate the acknowledgment as much as the next gal. Made my day. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Today's the day! Digital kit release!

I finally finished my digital kit and it is for sale in my Etsy! Here is the finished product.

I will email you the zipped file of the kit once you purchase it. For now that's how I'm going to do it till I have more kits available. Then I might make download links online. Still working this out.

I'm still working on a promo button for it. I did make this digital layout with my kit last night. I hope to show a few hybrid pieces tomorrow.

I'm so jazzed about finishing it. I didn't know if I ever would. There's still like 50 things I'd love to add to the kit, but at some point you have to say "done". Maybe I'll have to do a bonus element kit with it. Next is a mini sushi kit I want to make. I really need adobe illustrator.

Lauren made some cool digital cards on her blog with the kit and is going to have some hybrid pieces to show off later this week! Go check out what she made with my kit here.

Thank you all for all your support and kind words. I really feel like a I have a small great group of arty buds. I wish you all lived closer and we could have a huge digital/hybrid/carving stamp party to celebrate.

Hope your Monday is great!

New Candle Cards challenge card

I absolutely love the CARDS challenge blog where they weekly have challenges. The cards they show are so much fun and neat looking. This weeks challenge is to do a birthday card with candles. Here's what I came up with.

I think I used a little of every bit of my supplies. I made the candles out of scrap paper, I took the flames and colored them with oil pastels to get the color like that. I mounted them on vintage music sheet paper from an old book and added the BG yellow/blue border crossing over it. I outlined them with my micro pen. I mounted them on a blue cardstock with a oil pastel colored frame drew on it. Mounted onto the orange block of cardstock. Added hand dyed lace and mounted on a blue card. Polka dot ribbon tied around it. The birthday stickers are K&Company and the cheer is SRM stickers. The sun is a digital element by Faith True that I printed out onto sticker paper and cut out.

Sunday already. I've read my PostSecret blog posts for the week. I love those every Sunday. I'm debating about going up to Michael's with Leo. I REALLY feel the need for a craft/arty trip, but think maybe I should keep my art spending money tush at home.

I'm off to preorder my newest Sookie Stackhouse book that is coming out in May. 12 bucks!! You can't beat that.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Heart the arts week 15 prompt

I barely through the skin of my chinny chin chin made it this week. This week flew by. I guess its because I've had my weight and diet at the fore front of my mind all week and my arty brain has been put on slow.

I did manage to come up with a great prompt this week. Something I've been doing lately. Lately I've been Searching for things. Searching for the missing Young Indiana Jones dvd 1 season 1 that Logan lost. Searching for what my true desires are for school. Searching for a way to get Leo to be less mean to his brother and listen more. Plain ole searching.

So this week's prompt is.... Searching For..

This is what I came up with.

Its a portrait face painted in gouache paints and shaded a bit with some oil pastels. Written out journaling that was just open writing about how I was feeling a the time. You can't even read it anymore which to me means its gone. It no longer needs to be felt so I like that. It was just my insecurities being poured out. I also used a bit of distress inks on the page and some of my dyed lace. I cut out a wonky little flower and traced on it a bit.

I know its not Thursday, but I also wanted to share my Thurs Flickr fav's mosaic from this week. I forgot to post it on Thursday.

Bday invites Indiana Jones.

Friday. Yah! I'm so glad its finally Friday. I do have alot planned this weekend as usual. I don't have a free weekend till like May which is cool, but stinks also. I do enjoy a lazy weekend as much as the next person. This weekend we're having a sleepover with one of Logan's friends and then a BBQ on Saturday.

Speaking of weekend's Logan's birthday is coming up. I made the invitations. I get them printed out at Walgreens with matching envelopes. They turned out cute. I changed the info on this card to post. I don't want to give out real info. In the picture the font looks a little blurry. Its not on the cards. I don't know why the image is doing that. His theme is Indiana Jones Legos. Its fun designing Logan's birthday invites every year. I just do it in photoshop and use my digi kit stuff and get other images of whatever the things are that are the theme for the invite.

I'm working on my digi kit some more. I need some serious time with my scanner. I might be able to manage that tonight. It depends on how rambunctious the boys are. I also need to clean for tomorrow.
I can't believe its heart the arts day tomorrow! I'm not ready! I'm going to have to work on something today. I think this is the first Saturday I haven't had my page done by Friday. Craziness.

Well gotta take Logan to school. I bought this book off Ebay today. I have heard good things about it. I need to take alternate routes with Leo.

I think the biggest thing I have to work on his getting his frustrations down. I think I say "No" too quickly to things and he just ignores the word sometimes because he hears it so much. I need to be more positive and do like I did with Logan and give choices. Kids love choices. Even if the end result is still what you wanted to happen. I just want to start having our lives be less chaotic with the little Lion. He was named appropriately.

Off to hopefully have a crafty, busy, fun, gym loving, fantastic day. *fingers crossed* Let me not forget the light sauce pizza from Little Ceasers pizza I need to get for the boys.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

SRM Circles + Sketch Card

I typically don't combine challenges. I don't know why. Just cause I guess. I don't feel like it. It doesn't mesh with my sensibilities. Or maybe the mojo doesn't flow that way.

I did today. I took this kickin' sketch by Jen on her blog which is very cool.

I took the current SRM blog challenge to do circles and I came up with this card. And now I see that on SRM they are doing the sketch as a challenge too! Oh well! haha I did it for both I guess.

I had a very happy mail day yesterday. I got some cute CUTE bookmarks from Lauren in the mail. I had sent her one awhile back and so she sent me two. Cause she's cool like that. I LOVE the dog one. It is so pretty and unique. I will keep it as long as it holds together. It will find its way into ever book I read this year.

Here is the front and back of the bookmarks. The doggie one slipped in my current book I'm reading. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Thursday everyone!

I'm going to try to get to Target for some vaccuum bags, dishwasher detergent, sodas, and maybe a birthday present for Logan if the electronics area isn't too crowded.

Better late than never

I have been meaning to do the Caardvark lace challenge for weeks. Well I missed the deadline. I had no lace! I hadn't been able to make it to J's to get any. It was a bummer. But I made a little mini goal to myself that I would try to do every Caardvarks challenge this year. Just for me if nothing else. So... I bought that roll of lace and I did this with it!

I took the white lace and dyed it sort of like dying easter eggs but with alcohol inks. I did a few little things to them to make them darker in some areas then air dried them. I sewed them onto the card. I added on of my hand made clay/fabric embellishments with my hand carved flamingo painted on the clay circle. Last I added the sticker hi sentiment. Cute huh?? I love it! Its so pretty. I don't even think this picture does it justice. Its one of my fav things I've made this year. I'm addicted to dyeing that lace too. I have 7 yards of it on that spool. There might be some yards for sale in my Etsy soon since what am I going to do with 7 yards of colored lace??

I hope to get some more cards done today. At least two. I really want to do this sketch by Jen on a card and I really want to do the Caardvarks baby card challenge before I run out of time on this one. Those are my two hope to do's today. I have my hour spin class and stomach work I must do today also.

I'm also in planning mode for Logan's 7th birthday. I need to make digital invites to get printed out. His birthday is Indiana Jones Lego themed. I'll share when I finish it!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm getting caught up on all my comments. Thank you so much everyone who leaves me such wonderful notes. I really appreciate it. All those I haven't been to your blog yet, I'm working on it! I love getting notes from newbies to my blog. Its so nice to meet so many people with like interests on the net. I wish it was as easy in real life to meet arty people who share the same passion for arts and crafts as we all do.
