I'm alive. Things have been getting going around here. I've decided to step back on some obligations because it was getting to be too much. I was doing swim with the boys, speech with Leo, the pug fostering and just general life stuff got to be all too much. Maybe it wouldn't be that much to most, but to me it got to be overwhelming. I even stopped going to the gym the last month. I NEVER do that.
I managed to make this months calendar. I am pugless. I do miss the little guys, but school will be starting again and I will have 2 classes again. I made an important decision to go back to my paralegal degree. I only need 9 classes after this semester. I want a real job. A career. Taking two more years to do an art degree that I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with... well.. it was just unrealistic. I still might try eventually to get my degree in art, but I realized at this point in my life I'm way too sensitive and stuck in my ways to go into a classroom setting where everything is subjective. What they like or don't like is up to the teacher. Criticism is a way of life and well my skin isn't thick. I would rather look at art as doing it for me and for fun. Maybe sell some here and there, but get back to the original outlook I had on it.
I have not carved a stamp in months. I have not designed anything for months. I miss this. I am going to try to join in on this challenge this month. I have two days a week now that I am free to paint. I am going to start this week. So I might actually post more than once this month. I'm hoping to getting back into commenting and reading blogs too.
Here's to hoping. Thanks to all still reading. :)

Hi Gina
I know where you are coming from, the feeling of being overwhelmed visits me regularly but I can't seem to work out what balls to stop juggling. Having said that, you have inspired me to sit down and do some serious prioritising and looking at things realistically.
Great calendar page, I love the fresh bright colours you use.
Lee:)

Yahoooooo for your calendar...I always love it when you post them...hang in there sista.
Hey Gina, good to see you blogging and sharing your gorgeous work again! Sometimes less is more... so slimming down on committments can be a real winner. Hope all is well with you and your family, Jo x
I hear ya sister! Spending time on my art is one of my most favorite thing to do, but it's always the first thing pushed to the side when I get busy. Hang in there. I love your calendar. Vivid colors and so cute!
Ooh I so know that feeling of being overwhelmed. Well done you for making a few decisions. Your calendar ia fabulous as usual :-)

beautiful monthly layout. love the vibrant background and that dragon is so cool. hope all will go well from now on and hope you will enjoy doing every thing more! =)
ooooooooooh LOVE this calendar page! i have that JM kit the dragon is in, i haven't used it yet but you're making me want to!
i think that's a great choice re school. i didn't realize you were THAT CLOSE to finishing?! yeah, it's an excellent plan to do the last 9, get the degree and start getting paid... you can always take more art classes, etc, later; not that i am sure you NEED classes, just a good paying outlet for your considerable natural talents!!!
if you WERE going to pursue an art "career"... what about interior design?! again, you are already GREAT at that and it's a more practical choice than like illustration or something completely freelance?? just an idea. you are welcome to come and practice on my interior anytime, btw!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
